Dr. Abdullah Abdullah joins Afghanistan NOC President at taekwondo opening

Kabul, Afghanistan, February 23, 2021: The Chairman of the High Council for National Reconciliation, Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, joined the President of the Afghanistan National Olympic Committee, Dr. Hafizullah Wali Rahimi, at the opening of a major taekwondo competition in Kabul.

The matches took place under the slogan of “peace for all” and involved 250 female and male taekwondo players from four sports clubs in Kabul. 

The athletes competed in five age categories in a 500-seat capacity gymnasium of the General Directorate of Physical Education and Sport. The competition ran for three days.

The purpose of holding these competitions was to select the top players for the Kabul City team.
