Mongolia NOC holds ‘We Are NOC’ gathering as part of 65th anniversary celebration

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, February 22, 2021: Mongolia National Olympic Committee organised a “We Are NOC” friendly gathering of all past and present headquarters staff at Olympic House on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the founding of the NOC.

The NOC served a dual role as a government department in sport and physical education from when it was established in 1956 and became fully autonomous and independent in 1990.

Almost 80 people have worked as full-time HQ staff since 1990 including four Olympic Games medal-winners as well as high-profile athletes from basketball, volleyball, cycling, football, wrestling, athletics, handball, sambo, weightlifting, archery, tennis, fencing, shooting, triathlon and badminton.

Mongolia NOC’s current staff numbers 21 and they possess a wide range of language skills such as Russian, English, Chinese, Spanish, French, Japanese, Korean and Romanian. Their previous professions included linguist, coach, administrator, lawyer, journalist, financier, teacher, army officer and economist – all unified as one team under the Olympic flag.
