Thailand to send 27 athletes to YOG

Thailand will be sending a 41-strong delegation to the inaugural Youth Olympic Games in Singapore from August 14-26, according to the official home page of the National Olympic Committee of Thailand. The delegation will comprise of 14 female athletes, 13 male athletes, 12 team staff, Thai team chief Mr. Thana Chaiprasit and deputy delegation chief Dr. Supitr Samahito.

The figure was decided at a meeting of the Selection Player Committee, team staff, Sports Associations and the Sports Authority of Thailand. Maj. Gen. Charouck Arirachakaran, Vice President and Secretary- General of NOCT, presided over the meeting agenda to determine the quota for the number of athletes and staff.

Furthermore, the department of sports science organised a training seminar on the role and functions of the Sports Associations in the control of prohibited substances for athletes at the 1st YOG.
