The 4th East Asian Games

The 4th East Asian Games began in spectacular Opening Ceremony at Macau stadium at 08:00pm of Saturday, 29 October 2005. The Vice Premier of the People's Republic of China, Wu Yi, declared the Games open, to thunderous applause and cheers from the Macau citizens and thousands of spectators from the East Asian region.

National Olympic Committees of Japan, China, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, China; Korea, DPR Korea, Mongolia, and Macau are participating in the Games where the following sports are scheduled in the programme:

1.      Aquatics

2.      Athletics

3.      Basketball

4.      Bowling

5.      Dance sport

6.      Dragonboat

7.      Football

8.      Gymnastics

9.      Hockey

10.    Karate-do

11.    Rowing

12.    Shooting

13.    Soft Tennis

14.    Tennis

15.    Taekwondo

16.    Wushu

17.    Weightlifting
