Oman delegation learning at all levels

London, England: While the London Olympic Games will be the pinnacle of the sporting career of many athletes, with dreams of gold, silver and bronze, for others it is all part of the learning process. Such is the case of Oman, who have come to the Games with four athletes and the intention of learning as much as possible for the future, inside and outside the competition venues.

“It is very nice to be involved in such a big event and very important for all of us here,” says Kazem Al-Baluchi, Chef de Mission of the Oman Olympic Committee. “The athletes are enjoying it because everything is organised well and we do not have any problems. All the athletes dream to get to this place and they will be able to compete with famous athletes from around the world. It will make them work hard to reach a high level.

“We are hoping the athletes will achieve their best records here because it will encourage them to continue working more for the future. “For the management, we will learn how they organise everything and what things they do. We can all learn from this experience.”

Kazem says he is very proud to serve as Oman’s Chef de Mission and to represent his country. “It is a really good experience for me,” he adds. “In the Chef de Mission meetings, any issue that is discussed one day is solved the next day, so everything is going fine and smoothly. I wish the organisers all the success in the Games.” Oman has three athletes in track and field and one in shooting.
