IAGOC: Fun Runs can be even better

22 Oct 2011
Phuket, Thailand: Incheon Asian Games Organising Committee Deputy Secretary General Kim Jung Jae believes the initial target of the fun run series in 2011 has been met, and expects the fun runs to be even better next year. "I am very satisfied with the Incheon Asian Games fun run in Phuket, thanks to the great efforts and cooperation of the OCA and Thai NOC," Mr. Kim told ocasia.org on the conclusion of the 2011 Olympic Solidarity/OCA Regional Forum in Phuket.

"Evaluating the fun series as a whole in 2011, I believe the target in our initial plan at the start of the year has been fully attained in principle. "However, we are still determined to make the fun run event even better next year. There are a few aspects we should consider carefully.

"First, when we decide on the fun run city we should look at the city's calendar and see what kind of international event is happening at the same time. By doing so it will give maximum impact and publicity for our fun run.

"Also, if another fun run is held in an Arab country we should consider whether the event can be organised later in the day to avoid the hot weather. "IAGOC will continue working together with the OCA to further promote the Incheon Asian Games in 2014 through fun run events in Asia."
