Rugby develops women’s game

09 Dec 2011
Lausanne, Switzerland: The International Rugby Board (IRB) has launched its strategic plan for developing women’s rugby. This plan’s priorities are clearly fixed on competition and participation, and it aims to open the way to an unprecedented five-year growth plan. At present, 200,000 female rugby players throughout the world take part in competitions. Women’s rugby sevens will be played at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and is already a part of the Asian Games. Info at www.irb.com.
