20 Jan 2013
Kuwait: Mr E Munkh-Ochir, President of the Mongolian Shooting Sports Federation, and Sheikh Salman Al Sabah, President of the Asian Shooting Confederation, met in Kuwait during the Confederation's Executive Committee meeting on January 18 at the Regency Hotel to discuss bilateral cooperation. Sheikh Salman confirmed the financial support of the Kuwaiti Government towards the construction of a modern shooting range in Ulaanbaatar, which had been agreed at a summit of the two Head of States in Kuwait.

Mr E Munkh-Ochir, also Mongolia NOC Vice President, was accompanied by Mr Jugder Otgontsagaan, NOC Secretary-General. The delegation leader expressed his profound thanks to the ASC President and proposed to host the ASC Executive Committee meeting in Ulaanbaatar in 2015.

Shooting is one of the top sports in Mongolia with traditionally nomadic sharp shooters. Female Mongolian pistol shooters won one bronze and one silver medal at the Olympic Games in 1992 and 2004.
