Names of Asian Games Volunteer Announced

The 2014 Incheon Asian Games Organizing Committee announced the names of volunteer that have passed the reviewing process. 13,500 applicants out of 25,827 applicants have finally been selected as Asian Games Volunteer who will be working in different area such as competition venues, Main Media Center, Athletes’ Village, transport, interpretation, etc.

A high percentage, 50.4% of the applicant, who have successfully passed the application process, are citizen from Incheon city, next 26% come from Gyeonggi province, and 16.7% are from Seoul city. In addition, 322 foreigners from 28 nationalities such as China, Japan and Chinese Taipei have also been selected for effective communications between athletes and officials.

In particular, a 91-year-old senior citizen from Incheon is the oldest male volunteer who will be working as a Japanese interpreter in Athletes’ Village and an 85-year-old senior citizen from Incheon is the oldest female volunteer who will be working as a spectator guide in Songdo Global University Beach Volleyball Venue.

Officials from the Organizing Committee expressed sincere thanks to people who showed great interest in applying for Asian Games Volunteer program. They hope for great dedication and great success from the volunteers. The hope of the organizing committee is to have an amazing and memorable Asian Games.
