Thanks to the Korean Olympic Committee's assistance, Cambodia’s female taekwondo athletes have won three medals in recent international championships in Korea. According to taekwondo coach Choy Yong-sok, 45 countries participated in the 6th Open International Taekwondo Championship in Gumi City from September 2-6.  Cambodian athlete Sorn Davin won a bronze medal.

However, Sorn Davin's performance improved by winning the under 73kg gold medal in the Gyeongsagnam International Championship held four days later from September 10-12. Team mate Chhoeung Puthearim also won a gold medal at under 53kg.

The two Cambodian athletes are on a six-month training programme sponsored by Incheon Asian Games Organising Committee for the preparation of the 16th Asian Games to be held in Guangzhou from November 12-27, 2010.
