Medal Table - 11th South Asian Games
India claims 90 gold in 11th South Asian Games

Regional powerhouse India romped away at the top of the medals table for the 11th South Asian Games, which closed in Dhaka, Bangladesh, on Tuesday. India won 90 of the 158 gold medals up for grabs in the eight-team event, and garnered a total of 174 medals with the addition of 55 silver and 29 bronze.

Pakistan finished a distant second in the final standings with 19 gold medals, followed by a proud host Bangladesh with 18.

Sri Lanka came in fourth with 16 gold, followed by Nepal (8), Afghanistan (7), Bhutan (0-2-3) and Maldives (0-0-2).

The Games opened on January 29 and more than 2,500 athletes took part. India will host the 12th edition of the South Asian Games but the dates have to be fixed.
