500 youngsters to attend Asian Games Fun Run in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan: The Olympic Council of Asia and National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan held a working meeting at the NOC headquarters in Tashkent on Thursday afternoon to discuss the Olympic activities coming up this weekend. Led by the President of the Uzbekistan NOC, Malik Babaev, the local organisers outlined their plans for the Asian Games Youth Reporter Project and Fun Learn quiz, which will take place at the official hotel, the Miran International Hotel, on Saturday.

The Fun Run, involving 500 children aged between nine and 16, will be held on Sunday morning in seven categories, including a Paralympic class. It will take place in the same park used by the Uzbekistan NOC for their annual Olympic Day festivities.

The Youth Reporter Project, Fun Learn + Fun Run are being organised by the OCA to promote the 17th Asian Games in Incheon, Korea, from September 19 to October 4, 2014, when 20,000 athletes, officials and media from the 45 National Olympic Committees are expected to take part.
