Schools take part in Mini Olympics

Manama, Bahrain: The Olympic spirit is burning brightly in Bahrain with the start of the 2014 Schools Mini Olympics on Tuesday, April 22. The week-long event, for students aged 17 and under, is being organised by the Bahrain Olympic Committee in cooperation with the Education Ministry and features four sports: volleyball, basketball, table tennis and athletics.

The official opening ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, April 24, and will be under the patronage of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Chairman and BOC President Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

This edition of the Mini Olympics is sponsored by Palace Projects, who will be presenting trophies and medals to the winners, while McDonald's is also contributing with free daily meals to the participants.
