Mongolia counts down to OCA Fun Run + Learn

26 Feb 2012
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia: The National Olympic Committee of Mongolia is going all out to set a high benchmark for the OCA’s new Fun Run + Learn series of activities to promote the 17th Asian Games in Incheon, Korea, in 2014. Mongolia, emerging from their own Lunar New Year celebrations which began on February 22, will host the Asian Games Youth Reporter Project on Tuesday and the Fun Run and Fun Learn the following day.

According to organisers, some 30 students – as well as several Mongolian sports media – are set to join the Youth Reporter Project, and plans are afoot for a Mongolian Olympic Games medallist to be the special guest at a mock press conference set up for the students as part of their training.

The following day, the Fun Learn Asian Games quiz and Fun Run will be held, with the latter attracting around 400 participants.

With daytime temperatures around minus 15C – but with an icy wind appearing to make it much colder, despite the bright winter sunshine – the warm hospitality of the Mongolians in general and NOC in particular looks set to make it a memorable stop on the OCA Fun Run + Learn circuit.

As well as representatives from OCA HQ in Kuwait, several members of the Incheon Asian Games Organising Committee will also attend the activities.
