WADA sets up scholarship to honour Mahmoud

26 Jan 2012
Kuwait: The World Anti-Doping Agency has set up a scholarship in memory of the late OCA Anti-Doping Department Director Mahmoud Khalifah Ali, who passed away in November 2011. WADA’s Director of Education and Program Development, Rob Koehler, made the announcement at the closing ceremony of the 2nd Regional Anti-Doping Organization Conference in Kuwait on Thursday.

“Right now we have three prizes of US$2,000 for Masters students doing their degree on anti-doping and anti-doping administration,” he said.

“We will set up another award with a top prize of US$5,000 in memory of the good work of Mahmoud Khalifah Hussain Ali.

“I hope this scholarship will encourage more young people to learn and participate in the anti-doping field for the future of clean sport.”
