OCA adds two fun runs to Incheon series

23 Aug 2011
Kuwait: The Olympic Council of Asia is pleased to announce the addition of two more fun runs in the series to promote the 17th Asian Games in Incheon, Korea, in 2014. The seventh and eighth Incheon Asian Games Fun Runs will be held in Dubai, UAE, on Wednesday, October 19, and in Phuket, Thailand, on Friday, October 21, respectively.

They will coincide with the two Olympic Solidarity/OCA regional forums taking place that week to provide information to the NOCs ahead of the 2012 London Olympic Games.

Fun runs are ideal tools to promote the Asian Games, as they involve the youth of the host NOC and build awareness of the Asian Games among the local media and public. They also encourage a healthy lifestyle and instill within the young participants the dream to one day take part in the Asian Games.

Fun runs have been held this year in Incheon, Bhutan, Timor-Leste, Turkmenistan, Palestine and Laos.
