08 Mar 2012
Beijing, China: The Chinese Olympic Committee reports that, on the evening of March 7, China's Sports Minister Liu Peng gave a dinner reception to the visiting Chief Executive of the Macau Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China, Fernando Chui Sai On, who made a special trip to Beijing to attend the opening ceremony of the Fifth Session of the 11th National People's Congress. Mr Liu, who is President of the Chinese Olympic Committee, praised the remarkable progress made by Macau in the sports field in recent years and hoped the two sports circles would continue to carry out more exchange and cooperation programmes to further promote sports development. Mr Chui expressed his thanks to the General Administration of Sport of China (GASC) for its energetic support of Macau's sports development, and wished the Chinese delegation good luck at the forthcoming London Olympic Games. Present at the meeting were Yang Shu'an, Vice Minister of GASC, and officials from different GASC departments. (www.olympic.cn)
