Selamatan ceremony held for success of 18th Asian Games

Date : 09 Aug 2018

Jakarta, Indonesia, August 9, 2018: The Media and Public Relations department of the Indonesian Asian Games Organising Committee (INASGOC) held a “Selamatan” ceremony for the success of the 18th Asian Games on Thursday.

The service is a form of blessing and, on this occasion, was conducted to pray for the safe and successful operation of the Main Press Centre (MPC) as well as for the overall success of the 18th Asian Games and for all the athletes and visitors.

The MPC, along with the International Broadcast Centre (IBC), forms the Main Media Centre (MMC) and is located at the Jakarta Convention Centre inside the Gelora Bung Karno sports complex – which will be the main hub of the 18th Asian Games.

Managers and staff from INASGOC’s Media and PR department were joined by children and teachers from the Yayasan Yatim Piatu Rasulullah Saw orphanage in Jakarta, as it is believed the prayers of orphans go direct to God.

The ceremony was to provide positive energy and to wish for good luck and success of the 18th Asian Games, which will run from August 18 to September 2 in Jakarta and Palembang.
