Seoul, Korea, December 6, 2018: South Korean taekwondo star Lee Dae-hoon will hold an international youth event on Jeju Island next year to promote the sport and culture of his country, organisers revealed on Thursday.
Lee, who was recently named the World Taekwondo Player of the Year, will run a taekwondo clinic involving more than 100 foreign and local students under the slogan ‘Love Taekwondo, Love Korea’.
The four-day event, which will take place in February 2019, is sponsored by Korea Tourism Organisation and Jeju National University Hospital. Lee, a three-time World Taekwondo World Championships winner, will demonstrate and coach taekwondo moves as well as help international students experience Korean culture.
Lee will donate profits from the event to Unicef Korea. The emphasis of the event will be on supporting healthy growth of youth.
The 26-year-old South Korean pin-up is considered one of the best taekwondo practitioners of his generation. He is a four-time world Taekwondo Player of the Year and has a record three Asian Games gold medals in taekwondo.
