Amman, Jordan, April 10, 2019: Jordan, Belgium and Moldova have launched their tri-nation taekwondo training camp in Amman ahead of the World Championships in Manchester next month.
The teams will be based at the Olympic Preparation Centre for the next week to ensure quality preparation, with a number of top 10 fighters taking part including Belgian World No. 1 for the -63kg weight, Jawad Ashab.
The Moldova athletes arrived on Sunday with four players led by Arnold Cook, ranked fifth in the world and winner of a World Championships bronze and three Grand Prix silver medals.
Taekwondo brought Jordan its first Olympic Games gold medal through Ahmad Abughaush in the men’s 68kg category at Rio 2016.
