Asian Beach Games

The Asian Beach Games has proved to be an outstanding success for the Olympic Council of Asia. With relatively low expenditure due to the temporary venues and natural resources of sand and sea already in place, coupled with high potential for tourism and promotion, the Asian Beach Games has quickly become very popular with organizers, athletes, officials and spectators alike. Popular sports such as beach volleyball as well as the colorful dragon boat racing, offer a truly modern presentation of sport, accompanied by summer-beat music, spectator-friendly announcements and a general party atmosphere. The first Asian Beach Games were held in Bali, Indonesia in 2008 and have become a regular feature in the Asian Calendar since.
